Are you planning a holiday in the outback soon? Tasmania is a part of Australia that is home to rainforest parks and reserves, attracting tourists from different parts of the world.
Boasting of phenomenal flora and fauna, Tasmania provides a number of attractions that you shouldn't miss during your visit. Here are some must-see tourist destinations:
Cascade Brewery
Germans aren't the only ones who love beer. In South Hobart is Australia's oldest brewery. It has been pumping out superb beer since 1832. For a tour at the Cascade Brewery, make sure that you are wearing flat, enclosed shoes (there will be lots of stair-climbing, and you wouldn't want to break your heels) and long trousers. In the end of the ordeal, there will be beer tasting, so endure those stairs!
Cadbury Chocolate Factory
If you have a sweet tooth, you might prefer a chocolate factory instead. Willy Wonka's isn't in Australia, but here's something equally good – Cadbury's, which is located in Claremont, just 25 minutes away from the centre of Tasmania. For a small fee, you can watch a chocolate-making video and be invited to dine at a café where you can sample chocolates and browse through retail and souvenirs at special prices.
Callington Mill
Chocolates are too sweet for you? How about getting oh-so-domestic in a flour factory? Built in 1837 and fully restored in 2010, this iconic structure is a stop for architecture and engineering enthusiasts. Guided tours are available for visitors and, once it's over, you can head over to across the road. The Companion Bakery sells baked goodies made from the high-grade organic flour produced from the mill itself.
